In each week of this 5 week course, we will learn about and work with one of the 5 yamas, or ethical principles, of yoga.
The 5 yamas are: Ahimsa (non-violence or compassion), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (wise use of energy, including sexual energy), Aparigraha (non-grasping or non-possessiveness).
Classes will be held on Mondays from 18:00-20:00 between May 6th and June 3rd. Each 2 hour class will include a short talk on the yama, asana and pranayama practice, and time dedicated to mantra and meditation. The aim of the course is to provide an opportunity to learn more about the yamas as the first limb of yoga and extended time to reflect on how we work with these ethical principles both on and off the mat.
The course is suitable for intermediate students with some previous experience with yoga and meditation.
Course cost is 1500 NOK.
